MR RICHARD TWUMASI-ANKRAH

Mr. Richard Twumasi-Ankrah graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Science (Bsc.) Degree in Agriculture (Economics option) in 1987. He also holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Agricultural Economics from the same university since 1999.

He worked at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) in Ghana for 32 years where he held the following positions: 1. (1990-1996) Project Economist of the National Agro-forestry Project (FAO-sponsored) and Forest Resources Management Project (World Bank-sponsored). 2. (1999-2005) Project Coordinator of the Special Program for Food Security (SPFS) sponsored by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). 3. (2006-2011) Project Coordinator of the NERICA Rice Dissemination Project (AfDBsponsored). 4. (2014-2017) Project Coordinator of the Rice Sector Support Project (RSSP) sponsored by Agence Française de Développement (AFD). 5. (2017- 2021) Head of Secretariat of Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) Programme.

At the time of his appointment as Board Member of the TOPP Board, he was the Director of the Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate of the ministry. He has also served on other boards such as the Seed Production Division (SPD) of the Ghana COCOBOD
